Elif Ayiter is an artist/designer and researcher for the development of hybrid educational methodologies between art & design and computer science as well as conducting independent research and creative activity in online virtual worlds, where she is known as Alpha Auer in Second Life®. She has presented research as well as artistic output at conferences including Siggraph, Towards a Science of Consciousness, AACE, Consciousness Reframed, Creativity and Cognition, ISEA, Cyberworlds and Computational Aesthetics. She is currently studying for a doctoral degree at the Planetary Collegium, CAiiA hub at the University of Plymouth and is also the chief editor of the academic journal Metaverse Creativity

Murat Germen is an artist / architect using photography as an expression / research tool. Having many articles / photo series published on architecture / photography / art / digital design at various magazines and books; he has been accepted to several seminars, symposia and conferences like SIGGRAPH, ISEA2009, Mutamorphosis, Towards a Science of Consciousness, CAe 2008-9, CAC2, EVA-London’08, eCAADe, ASCAAD to lecture on pertinent topics. Has opened over 30 inter/national (Turkey, USA, Italy, Germany, UK, Mexico, Portugal, Uzbekistan, Greece, Japan, Russia, Iran, India, France) exhibitions. His artistic work is represented by C.A.M. Gallery is Istanbul . Received inter/national awards (like 2nd place/mentions in IPA 2004-5-6-7, Px3 2007, IVRPA’07) for work on photography, design, architecture.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Selim Balcisoy obtained his B.S. in Electronical Engineering from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH)
in 1996. He received his PhD on Computer Science “Analysis and Development of Interaction Techniques between Real and Synthetic Worlds” in 2001 from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). Between 2001 and 2004 he was Senior Research Engineer at Nokia Research Center USA, where he conducted research on mobile graphics. His research interests include Augmented Reality, Virtual Environments, Cultural Heritage and Mobile Graphics. Dr. Balcisoy (co)authored over 40 publications at refereed international journals and conferences, and has been granted with one U.S. patent.
